Advice on Approaching
Us girls aren’t typically brought up to be assertive nor taught how to approach a future mate, especially another female. Therefore, we thought we’d give you some pointers to push you in the right direction.
1. Observe
Make a comment about something you observe in your & her environment. This is especially effective at a store. If she is browsing the jean rack, ask her if the prices are good there. Make your comment immediate & pertinent to the situation and it will seem perfectly natural. There is always something interesting to comment on regardless of the surroundings.
2. Smile
This shows her that you are friendly & open. A genuine smile will put her at ease & create warmness in the interaction. Of course, having great teeth is also a plus;)
3. Confidence
If you hesitate in your approach, this tells her that you are not feeling confident, a definite turn-off. Walk over to her within a short period of time of seeing her. Show her you are a woman who knows what she wants & goes for it.
4. Body Talk
If you approach hunched over with your head down, you are sending negative vibes about yourself. Instead, stand up straight with your shoulders back and that perky chest out, and use a poised yet relaxed walk.
5. Calm & Casual
If you walk over too fast, you could likely trigger her internal stalker alarm. A calm, casual approach is usually the best way to make her feel relaxed about having a stranger approach her.
6. Eye to Eye
Never be the first to break eye contact. If you do, it may send the message that you are not feeling certain about approaching. Beware of staring though. Practice this & it will come more naturally.
7. Listen Up
Make sure you pay careful attention to everything that comes out of her pretty mouth. Do not have lines that you already have thought out. That is super cheesy! Women love women who can engage in a spontaneous & witty conversation.
8. Comfort Level
Fidgeting is distracting & shows you’re uncomfortable. If you communicate that you are not comfortable, she will likely feel discomfort and may close off. Be aware of your body & pay attention to your movements, or lack of movement, to communicate comfort and confidence.
9. Lighten Up
The tone of your voice is very telling. Approaching her in a light & playful tone is one of the best ways to open a conversation. Consider using some humor in your approach.
10. Lean Machine
If you lean in too far when she talks you may make her feel crowded. A better way is to lean slightly away from her. This shows her that you respect her personal space while you’re in her space.
